A New Me

I am excited to announce that I will be a certified pilates instructor very soon! I came to the conclusion that I am not made to serve chicken wings any longer and plan to retire my orange shorts. For those of you who do not know I am a Hooters girl and serve unhealthy food 4-5 days a week. I am ready for a change and plan to do so and hope to make others healthy and feel beautiful!

If you are interested in taking pilates I will be offering classes soon at a low cost so I can get my practice in!

I hope everyone is having a fabulous year!

Vegan at Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is just around the corner! I am super grateful for this year I have learned so much about myself and it is almost my one year anniversary of being vegan! My entire family eats meat, I am the only one left out! Since this is my very first thanksgiving being vegan, I had to do lots of research on what would make a great thanksgiving dinner!

Here are some of my discoveries! I am so excited to see they make a WHOLE vegan turkey! It sounds delightful! You can purchase this lovely "turkey" at a Whole Foods Market near you!

Yummy Foods

Did you know there are tons of vegan items at your local grocery stores? I understand times are tough and sometimes buying completly organic foods can get pricey but stores like Target and Walmart now carry Amy's Non-Dairy Bean Burritos which run at about $1.49 which is completely unbeatable and completly vegan! I have also found this website which names tons of items that are easily found at grocery stores, Target, Walmart and other discount grocery stores. The best part is there is also a list of baking items so you can get creative and start cooking up some fabulous dishes!

The LARABAR is a new way to get healthy and enjoy a dessert! These bars have flavors such as peanut butter cookie (my favorite), apple pie, key lime pie, and many other delicious flavors! Most of these bars are also RAW on top of already being VEGAN so check them out I have found them sold at Mothers Market, Trader Joes and Whole Foods but you can also buy in bulk at http://organicpharmacy.org/manufacturer/LARABAR?gclid=CNPihIn67pwCFRlcagodIyOsiA which sells them at just $18.09 a case for 16 which is a great deal!

Being Vegan

First off I would like to blog about one thing I am so passionate about.

BEING VEGAN

Now, I am not your typical candidate for this type of diet. I was raised on RED meat and I mean hardcore steaks. I hated vegetables, tofu, soy all of those foods that I adore now. I have known vegetarians and vegans and frowned upon their choices because I could never grasp why anyone could or would choose to stop eating meat. Another thing was dairy products now how could ANYONE give up ice cream, yogurt and cheese now, that was just crazy to me!

Than all of a sudden it dawned on me! I was always skinny never fat but never felt healthy. I danced 3-5 days a week and loved working out so why was it that I never felt satisfied and completely healthy? I endured on a cruise with my family to Mexico and met a dietician who answered all of these questions. He did not force the vegan diet on anybody but did explain the hormones and all of the horrible chemicals that are forced into animals that than enter our bodies. I became enlightened and realized that eating even a bit of ice cream was like licking rubber off of my shoe! I also learned that the hormones in cows creates man boobs and fat onto our bodies!

I than transformed myself on January 1st of this year and became an official Vegetarian! I do not recommend anyone to go right into being vegan because you must explore your options and plus its hard on anybody's body to adjust right away. I than read the famous book "Skinny Bitch." My mom actually got it for herself to learn how to lose weight. I than read the book, quickly finished it, and than I decided would become a vegan!

I wanted to flush out all of the horrible toxins that for the last nineteen years I had digested and enjoyed. To learn that chemicals were clogging my liver disgusted me! No wonder all of America is obese! The liver is a vital part in our digestive systems and to clog it with fattening hydrogenated oils and chemicals is just horrid. Plus how can you eat something that has been shoved with millions of its kind and no where to use the restroom! Can you imagine how diseased fish is?

I hope one day our food industry will see how Europe treats produce and food. They naturally grow everything and treat there animals somewhat kindly. They rarely use any type of chemicals and ban any chemical that causes any type of cancer or disease. Even our fruit is distraught! How is every single "naturally" grown orange perfectly round and the perfect color orange? And, have you ever seen a banana so large? This is not because the farmer grew it perfect it is because of the horrid chemicals they put in the fruit to make it more consumer "friendly." Always buy fruit that looks natural not the prettiest fruit in the bunch because you are meant to eat natural foods.

As time goes on I have found many great products that make up for my crazy cravings for ice cream and candies!

This is my first BLOG ever so I am just getting used to this. I love to tell others my interests and different things I have learned so please understand these will just get better as I learn more about the blogging world!
